NoPlex for teens with ADHD
We get it. Being a teen is hard enough as it is.
Being a teen is hard.
…and whether self-diagnosed or formally diagnosed — whether you’ve known since you were a child or found out as a teen — you know that ADHD makes it harder. Millions of teens with ADHD feel as though they’ve endured an uphill battle simply to become and remain responsible, reliable, and valued. Diagnosed or not, they’ve endured years of “Why can’t you just…” questions from loved ones, teachers, and friends.
You’re overwhelmed. We know.
Podcast host and entrepreneur Alex Partridge shared a simple but effective analogy on Instagram.
Our understanding of ADHD and ADHD management have evolved in recent years. Medication and therapy have changed lives but haven’t solved a fundamental problem: Having ADHD doesn’t absolve you of responsibilities. You still have to show up to class or practice on time. You still need to remember your work uniform. You still need to stop by an elderly relative’s house to help them.
NoPlex “speaks ADHD.”
While nuanced and sprawling, ADHD’s challenges can be broadly summarized as a series of “challenge domains:”
Personal Organization (Including Time Management)
Intention Drift (Lack of Follow-Through)
Avoidance (and Procrastination)
“Hyperfixation”
Motivational Deficit
Distraction
Impulse Control
NoPlex’s suite of features address the above ADHD challenge domains and provide teens with ADHD the same quality of tactical tools that the neurotypical community has enjoyed for decades.
How NoPlex Helps Teens with ADHD Find Their Groove
Your Horizon provides a new way to focus and minimize overwhelm.
Your Horizon is a dedicated place for the things that you would like to accomplish in a given day. While you collect, manage and curate your Tasks in a separate view, you move chosen Tasks into your Horizon on the day you want to address them. When you use NoPlex, your primary view is focused and intentional. Unnecessary options are removed. You can’t see non-Horizon Tasks. You’re notified only on Horizon Tasks that are running out of time. Your Horizon also provides a better understanding of the types of Tasks and responsibilities you struggle with the most, arming you with the insights needed to focus on the strategies that set you up for success.
Your Tasks take care of themselves.
When Tasks are overdue, they let you know. When they’ve grown old and stale, they let you know (this helps avoid the common ADHD practice of “thought hoarding!”). No more worrying that you let something crucial slip. No more worrying that you forgot about an important due-date.
Routines do the remembering for you.
Routines are groups of Tasks that belong together and which can either come to life on-demand or on a schedule.
Example: If you need to prepare for a weekend trip, the dozen-or-so Tasks that you need to perform can exist as a Script (fuel up the car, ask Uncle Buck to feed the goldfish, pack...). When it’s time to prepare, either run the Script or schedule it to run the day before you leave.
Routines are great for weekend chores, after-school Tasks, seasonal responsibilities, etc. …and for those who struggle a bit more with ADHD’s challenges, this can also help with daily tasks like taking medicine or feeding pets.
